'Outgrowing' Autisim
An interesting new study by the National Institutes of Health followed 34 kids diagnosed with autism in early childhood and but went on to function as well as non-autistic peers. The now 8 to 21 year olds have no problems with communication, language, or social interaction.
Obvious question -- were they misdiagnosed in the first place? Great question, and the answer is no. Researchers believe children can just "outgrow" autism. More
