The first since the Boston Marathon and something that inspired me in the midst of the lockdown in Boston. Sing along!

I'm a 40 something woman who started in radio back when we played records! Yikes! This doesn't mean I'm not a gadget girl as I could probably change my name to iLori as I have an iPod touch, iPhone, Macbook Pro and an iPad. Not that I have any of these things in my possession half the time as my kids are playing Club Penguin or listening to me on iheartradio (grab the app now!). My twins are 8 years old and we're also proud parents of a greyhound and chiquaqua that barks everyone away from the front door. I started in radio because I love music and people and how the two interact. Lyrics move me, literally sometimes, and hopefully get you through the day as well. I was born in Jackson, Michigan. I lived in Michigan until I was twelve years old and although I've lived in other places, a Michigan girl I will always be. My first baseball game was a Tigers game, I'm a Michigan fan (go Blue) who cried when Bo Schembechler died, grew up listening to Bob Seger on my record player and feel proud every time I see a commercial about Detroit's auto industry. For me, Detroit is coming home, to where I grew up and where my father's siblings live (the majority of all TWELVE). I have missed the corn fields, the beautiful summers and yes, even the snow. I can't wait to introduce my nine year old twins to everything Detroit has to offer and to experience all the wonderful things I did as a kid.

Diving Giraffes?
Animals fascinate me. I wonder how my dog Buddy can be so simple to chase a ball I throw 500 times and still want it once more and yet still understand when I am sad and snuggle up next to me. They have their own thoughts and feelings I suppose, they just can't say what they are.
Giraffes have always been one of my favorite animals at the zoo. The shape of their bodies is just....different. And I guess being a tall girl, I liked the animals that looked tall and magestic. Ever wonder what they do in their spare time? Diving, apparently.

Star Spangled WOW
I love sporting events. I grew up going to football and basketball games, played volleyball and tennis, ran track and in general, just enjoyed being physical. The event that preceded all these games is the national anthem. Maybe you can make it through hearing (or singing) it without crying but I can't. Although we can complain about our country, nothing like what happened in Boston can make you feel more like a Patriot than belting out the national anthem.
And this girl, she belted it out. She's Marlana VanHoose, a blind girl born with cytomegalovirus. And can she SING!!!
