Besides my on-air duties, I also wear a couple of other hats ... like Assistant Program and Music Director. Selfridge Air National Guard Base plans series of tests Friday of siren, announcement system
Selfridge Air National Guard Base is planning a series of tests of its sirens and outdoor announcement system.
Officials at the base in Macomb County's Harrison Township say people on or near the base may hear tests between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday. The so-called giant voice loudspeakers and sirens are used to notify personnel in the event of an emergency.
The base is home to the 127th Wing. Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan announced Wednesday that the base is expected to keep its A-10 aircraft unit and refueling tankers under the latest version of the defense authorization bill.
